Basic types of clothing styles in fashion
Elegant style
It is created by clothes with a classic form and specific cut, such as a shirt, blazer, pencil skirt, trench coat, or cigarette pants. They should be made of high-quality fabrics. There is no room in elegance for extravagance, flashy patterns, or colors – simplicity and minimalism reign supreme. Elegant attire is recommended for important occasions as a sign of respect for another person. It also makes us be perceived more professionally. Recommended colors are navy blue, graphite, white, and beige. Black and brown can be used for accessories such as shoes or handbags. These are colors that will certainly add professionalism to elegant outfits. In this clothing style, opt for minimalist jewelry that will highlight your beauty.
Casual
This is simply an everyday clothing style, providing a high level of comfort and allowing for freedom of movement. Smart casual
This is a combination of elegant and everyday clothing styles, colloquially also called sporty elegance. It is a fashion style that allows you to maintain an elegant look while feeling comfortable. It is recommended for slightly less formal circumstances (e.g., going to the theater, a date, or a family meeting) or when there is no strictly defined dress code. It originates from and draws inspiration from the attire of people who practice sports. Most clothes are made of flexible knitwear. The cuts of sports clothes do not restrict movement and are very comfortable. Various types of sports sweatshirts, pants, or jackets very often have many features in common with the original clothes of professional athletes. They feature characteristic stripes on the sides of the pants, player numbers, team names, and logos. In stores, we can also find clothes with an elegant cut with elements taken from this very clothing style, such as elegant cigarette pants with side stripes or knit dresses. This is a type of dressing in which a small number of clothes with a timeless character are used to create an outfit. Their universal character makes them a part of every fashion style that I describe in this article. Nowadays, there is more and more talk about the fact that we need to start taking even better care of our planet, which is why minimalism is not only stylish but also good for the environment. Remember: by focusing on quality, we do not litter our planet and we do not add our brick to the "fast fashion" market, which is very harmful to the Earth.

Eclecticism
This is a clothing style that mixes different trends in fashion. It juxtaposes many colors, fabric textures, and accessories, creating extraordinary and interesting combinations. It often includes elements that are currently very trendy. We can most often see eclectic outfits on runways, though not only. A supporter of this style is, among others, model Hailey Bieber, who readily promotes it on her Instagram. An example of an eclectic outfit was the combination of heavy, high-shaft boots with an airy skirt and a bra, which was proposed by Christopher Kane during the presentation of the fall-winter 2020-2021 collection.
Vintage/retro
It has strong connotations with what was worn in the past. Original vintage clothes are unique, often made of fine materials and lace, have beautiful embroidery, and decorated buttons. Of course, in stores, we can also find clothes inspired by this style (more and more brands are basing their designs on trends from years ago), however, they are often not as high-quality as the original ones. True vintage gems can be found in vintage shops, second-hand stores, and clothing resale apps.
Futuristic style
Somewhat of an opposite to the vintage style is the futuristic clothing style. Characteristic of it are clothes in silver color, which refers to astronauts' clothing. The futuristic style also means geometric forms and a penchant for asymmetrical cuts. Metallic shine is most often combined here with black, and long coats that mask almost the entire silhouette accompany heavy platform shoes. Although creating outfits 100% in this fashion style could give the impression of being a costume, not everyday clothing, skillful combination of some of its elements (e.g., with minimalism) gives truly interesting effects.
Fashion styles originating from pop culture
Streetwear (street style)
This is a fashion style combining elements of casual, sports, and artistic style, inspired especially by hip-hop music. Characteristic elements for it are oversized sweatshirts, loose pants, baseball caps, and sneakers. It is certainly an interesting clothing style, as it combines different clothes in an unusual and creative way, creating a coherent whole that allows you to express yourself. Boho/hippie style
This is the style of the artistic bohemia, which originates from the 70s, when the hippie movement had its beginnings. Characteristic of this clothing style are colorful clothes with flowers, ethnic ornaments, artistic patterns, airy skirts and overlays, lace and braided elements, fringes, and wide-leg pants. Accessories in the boho style include, among others, long earrings, feathers, headbands and wreaths, or straw bags. The boho style focuses on loose and airy cuts.
Rock/grunge style
It originates from rock music, and more specifically from the attire of its performers, who wanted to oppose the system and show their own approach to the world through their image. A characteristic feature of the grunge style is negligence and looseness, so rock clothes should not be fitted. A leather motorcycle jacket, heavy combat boots, ripped jeans, and plaid shirts are the most typical elements of this style. There is also no shortage of rebellious accessories such as fingerless leather gloves, studs, bandanas, chains, or sunglasses.
Styles originating from different regions
Safari style
This is a clothing style characteristic of lovers of visiting wild corners of the world. It was popularized by travelers exploring Africa. In order not to scare away wild animals, they wore colors that allowed them to "blend in" with the thicket of trees. That is why clothes in this style have earthy colors (shades of yellow, beige, green, brown, and black). Accessories are made of natural raw materials in an ethnic style.
Country style
This type of clothing draws strong inspiration directly from the Western. Cowboy boots, which have been very fashionable for several seasons, cowboy hats, or designer fringe jackets are characteristic elements of this fashion style, which goes great with the aforementioned boho style. The base of this clothing style is a plaid shirt and jeans.
Folk style
This is a style inspired by regional costumes and the culture of a given region. An inseparable element of this clothing style are flowers in various forms (embroidery, prints, patterns on clothes, wreaths, etc.) as well as various ornaments and lace. One of the dominant colors in this style is red.
