Linen is a material with exceptional properties. It boasts above-average breathability, anti-allergic properties, durability, high moisture absorption, and… wrinkle resistance. This discourages many people from buying linen clothing, as the thought of standing at an ironing board for long periods puts them off. Fortunately, wearing linen doesn't necessarily mean forging a closer relationship with the iron. If you want to know how, read on!
Does linen wrinkle?
Anyone who's ever owned even a single item made from linen knows that the material has a strong tendency to wrinkle. While many women's cotton T-shirts simply need a good shake to remove wrinkles after washing, a linen shirt will require ironing. Women's viscose skirts can be worn without ironing until they need to be washed again, whereas a linen dress can be worn once and ironed again after a long day. What if you could fully embrace the wrinkle-prone nature of linen and find its nonchalant charm? We understand that you can't always be completely relaxed about it – there are times when a perfectly ironed shirt is an essential part of your outfit. We completely understand this, so we've got a few tips for ironing linen!

How to iron linen?
When ironing linen, it's important not to dry it dry – the material should still be slightly damp. If you miss this step, spray the garment with clean water just before ironing. This trick will help smooth out any creases that develop during washing. Unlike many other materials, linen requires a high ironing temperature – between 180 and 220°C. While setting the iron settings this way should make the job easier, you can also use a special fabric ironing spray. This product adds elasticity and allows even the most stubborn creases to be straightened out without any problems. Simply spray the fabric with it and iron as usual.
How to iron linen with a steamer?
Traditional irons are increasingly being replaced by modern steam generators, or steam steamers. These prevent the heated plate from coming into contact with the fabric, and ironing is achieved contactlessly thanks to the steam released through the nozzles. Handheld steamers can be purchased for as little as a few hundred złoty, but due to their power, they may not be able to handle heavily wrinkled linen. However, if you don't have the space for a steam station at home, try looking for a smaller device with the highest possible power. If you can afford a steam station, ironing linen will be much easier. This is because these types of steamers can reach up to 2200W of power, which is unattainable for smaller devices. They allow you to enjoy a perfectly ironed linen shirt or dress in just a few moments. With hot steam, the clothes don't need to be additionally moistened with water.

How to iron linen while traveling?
Linen is the perfect material for hot weather, which is why we love wearing it in the summer. And thanks to its lightweight nature, it's often a staple in travel wardrobes (our summer favorite is linen shorts , which are incredibly breathable and comfortable!). If you don't mind a little wrinkling, you can iron your linen garment just before packing it into your suitcase. However, if you want a flawless look, you can also take a spray iron with you on your trip. Simply spray the garment with the special product and stretch it slightly while it dries – it's ready! To save yourself the hassle of lugging around the entire package, it's worth pouring a little product into a smaller spray bottle.
Have a nice holiday!
