Did you know that a clothing brand involves a significant amount of work that's practically invisible, yet has a huge impact on the final appearance of the product on the website? While your first thought might be choosing fabric or sewing test samples, today we're going to tell you about something else... photo shoots !

How to start organizing a photo day?

Whether we're preparing for a photo shoot or a reel (also known as a reel, Instagrammers surely know what I mean!), we always start with the same thing – deciding which products will be the center of attention that day. Most of these are new models, but we also sometimes use ones you're already familiar with – for example, when we want to refresh their images on the website or show how to use them in everyday outfits.

Once we've finalized the product list, the next challenge begins: styling. Monika and Paulina, our reliable team, are here to help. They create combinations of our products that showcase their potential . In photoshoots, they're very classic, but in roller skates, things get a little more adventurous. Sometimes our models take center stage in the styling, and sometimes they're a versatile base for other products. Zosia and Martyna from the Zophia team also support us in this area. Their keen eye will spot the coolest combinations, so we can always count on brand-new tips!

At this point, we can also estimate how much time we need to complete all the photos and recordings, and then proceed to booking the studio . Then, together, we try to determine what type of skin tone will best complement the new colors and cuts, and based on that, we contact models.

A good plan is essential

Preparing a single look doesn't require a complex plan—but what if there are 20, 30, or even 40? You have to admit, that's a pretty hefty number to remember in one day! That's why we always create a schedule for the day of the shoot .

This detailed plan allows us to precisely outline the working hours and elements of each styling, specifying the model for which it was created. This document is used by the entire team involved in preparing the shoot, as well as our graphic designers and even the production and e-commerce departments.

Preparations for the session

Once we have a schedule and a list of necessary supplies , we move on to preparing them in one place . We try to do this twice – a few days before the session and the day before. This ensures we don't forget anything!

So what tasks do we carry out?

  1. We check whether all the new items have arrived - we verify whether the sewing factories have sent us the models that will be in the spotlight on a given day
  2. We prepare the remaining products needed to create the look —of course, we're talking about pants, skirts, shoes, and jewelry. We've already built a "capsule wardrobe for the shoot," including classic jeans, beige pants, and a skirt. Additionally, before each shoot, we borrow essential products from the girls on our team—you'll never know how many gems their wardrobes hold! They've saved our outfits more than once.
  3. We're packing our "case , " our special-purpose cosmetics bag . Inside, you'll find accessories that will help in virtually any situation. A comb? Band-aids? Body cream? We have it all in one place!
  4. We're getting the electronics ready - charging the batteries, packing the tripod, laptops, phones and cameras.

Session day - madness and good organization in one

The start of a shooting day is, above all, a whirlwind of excitement! Although we do it at least once a month, we experience similar excitement each time—after all, the fate of the premieres depends on our work that day.

Once we arrive, we prepare the products – ironing them and arranging them in the correct order . Meanwhile, the other team prepares the lighting and equipment – Patrycja coordinates this for photos, and Monika coordinates this for videos . Once these processes are complete, we move on to working with the models – the shoot and filming officially begin!

Of course, we work according to our schedule – we stick to this order or slightly modify it as needed. Sometimes a part of the outfit changes, sometimes the model changes, and sometimes the order changes. We try to be flexible here, and Excel is a great help in this, thanks to which we can constantly update the daily schedule table.

Throughout all this work, we don't forget to have fun – we play music in the background, try to smile a lot, and take breaks . This allows us to find a lot of freedom and ease in our initially "rigid" schedule! We also record behind-the-scenes videos for you, and you can almost always catch up on what's happening on Instagram or our Facebook group !

End of the session, meaning a lot of tidying up

We end the day, of course, by returning to the office and doing a thorough cleanup. We put all the products back in their proper places – in closets and drawers . We also share what we've created with the rest of the team so they know what stage the new product launch process is at.

After such a day, we're usually exhausted, but also satisfied – after all, we learn new things from session to session, and our work can reach a whole new level ! Let us know if you like our work – do you have a favorite ANSIN session? :)
