A capsule wardrobe has been a hot topic for several years now. You're probably well aware of why it's worth building one and can list a dozen or so compelling reasons. However, this wardrobe foundation can vary significantly depending on your daily life. Keep this in mind when you're inspired by the capsule wardrobes of influencers or friends. In today's post, I'd like to introduce you to my 5 wardrobe staples, which I use to create many outfits.

White T-shirt - the basis of styling
This point certainly comes as no surprise. However, finding the perfect piece was a challenge for me, as there are so many styles to choose from, and I wanted something that would work perfectly with both casual and smart-casual outfits.
What visual aspects should you consider when purchasing the foundation of a women's wardrobe?
-
neckline
There are many types, depths, and variations of necklines, such as a sharp V-neck (like the Miss Classic T-shirt ), a semi-circular V-neck (like the Miss Womanly T-shirt ), a round neckline (like the Miss Basic T-shirt ), a round but lowered neckline (like the Miss Delicate Bodysuit ), a square, asymmetrical, or a boat neck ( Miss Feminine T-shirt ), etc. A V-neck can visually slim the face, neck, and figure. This doesn't mean that a crew neck will achieve the opposite effect. When choosing the perfect T-shirt, I decided that I like to show off my neck and collarbones. I also often wear chains, so a model with a lower neckline would work better.
-
cutting
This aspect is also important and influences, among other things, our comfort when wearing them. There are three basic cuts: fitted, straight, and loose . I really like the straight cut, which I can slightly loosen up by tucking into high-waisted pants or a skirt.
-
sleeves
While this isn't often noticed, it's quite important to me. For example, a fitted T-shirt with sleeves that reach to the elbow creates a completely different effect than the same model with short sleeves that end just below the shoulder (which can visually broaden your shoulders). Remember that you can roll up the sleeves of a T-shirt just like you would roll up the legs of pants – this detail can create a really cool effect.
- length
Depending primarily on our height and torso length, different T-shirt styles may fit differently, and the neckline may end in different places. Some people prefer crop tops to avoid having to tuck them into high-waisted bottoms. Personally, I dislike T-shirts that are too long. I always tuck the T-shirt into the bottom of the outfit, and the large amount of fabric makes it difficult to arrange it smoothly.
-
material
Besides the fabric, which I haven't even mentioned, this is a very important aspect. There are so many options—from flowing, through thin, delicate materials, to stiff, thick ones. You can also choose between smooth cotton and ribbed fabrics (and their various widths). The material influences how the T-shirt fits and its overall appearance, for example, whether it looks good, whether it wrinkles immediately after wearing, whether it's see-through, etc.

Turtleneck sweater
Given the still chilly weather, I couldn't help but mention a turtleneck sweater. I love walking, so a turtleneck is very functional in my wardrobe . I have several pieces—from thin and fitted ones, to loose, medium-weight sweaters, to oversized, very warm sweaters. My number one is definitely the Miss Cuddle turtleneck , which I wear both on its own, for example, with jeans or a skirt, and under a blazer or denim jacket . The double-fold turtleneck keeps my neck warm, even when I forget my scarf 💁🏼♀️ In the colder months, I like fitted turtlenecks like the Miss Cozy , which work great as a base under a blazer. This style fits close to the body, making it very comfortable and also works well for travel outfits. Thick turtleneck sweaters are a good base for warm outfits.
I love pairing oversized sweaters with leather pants or classic mom jeans or flared jeans. You can also pair this sweater with a mini skirt or shorts for a cute outfit. It also looks very feminine with a midi skirt like Miss Tulip .

The skirt is a classic in a woman's wardrobe.
In my opinion, a skirt is also a staple in a woman's wardrobe. I love feminine styles, and a classic skirt in basic colors offers so many styling options. Depending on your taste, choose the length that best suits you—mini, midi, maxi—and the cut—pencil, flared, pleated, straight, with a slit, etc. Midi skirts look beautiful paired with, for example, an oversized top like a white T-shirt and a large denim jacket or a short blazer. Mini skirts can be paired with a white shirt and cardigan, or for a more sporty look, with a non-zip hoodie.
You can often style a classic skirt with your favorite jeans, black straight trousers, or cigarette pants. It will beautifully accentuate your legs and add a touch of femininity to your outfit.

Jacket - the basis of elegance
The penultimate staple in my wardrobe is a blazer, which I use for both dressier occasions and casual outfits. An interesting texture or color can elevate simple outfits and add a touch of chic. A shorter cut will accentuate your waist and work perfectly with high-waisted bottoms and midi skirts. An oversized blazer can be paired with mini skirts. When choosing a blazer, you might consider buying a complete set, such as the Miss Licious set . You can wear the pieces together as a base layer or separately with completely different outfits.

Black pants
Black or navy trousers are a staple in a woman's wardrobe, and you can pair them with almost anything. Paired with a white shirt, they create an elegant office look, while paired with a colorful turtleneck sweater, they're a perfect choice for casual get-togethers with friends. Black trousers work well as a backdrop for fashionable pieces like sequins, tulle, or glitter, allowing for creative experimentation with fashion.
When choosing black trousers, it's worth paying attention to their cut, which should accentuate your figure and be comfortable at the same time. Cigarette trousers perfectly shape your legs, while flared legs add lightness and freedom of movement. My ideal style is high-waisted flare trousers, which accentuate the waist and hips, and when paired with black heels, visually lengthen the legs.
Above, I've described the 5 basic pieces in a woman's wardrobe and created 15 sample outfits using them . This foundation works for me for many occasions. I encourage you to create your own must-have list, highlighting which items you can't imagine creating outfits without, which ones might still come in handy, and which you no longer need.
