Many designers showcased this particular sweater style during last year's fashion weeks, showcasing trends for the fall-winter 2022/23 season, in a variety of stylish and designer combinations. Oversized sweaters are great for keeping us warm on frosty days, so in this article, I'll show you how to wear them to look stylish and feel comfortable.
Which oversize women's sweater should you choose?
There are several types of sweaters to choose from. Each will suit a different style and body type. Women's oversized turtleneck sweaters will look best on figures with a smaller or medium bust. However, they may distort the proportions of figures with a shorter neck and larger bust, as this style accentuates these differences. People with this type of figure will look better in a V-neck sweater. You can find sweaters with "bat sleeves" in stores (a sleeve cut and knitted entirely on the front and back of the sweater). This design can add a touch of nonchalance to the style, but it can also visually weigh down the shoulders and torso and shorten the arms. Therefore, a classic and timeless sleeve set in at the shoulder line is a better choice . Oversized sweaters are usually longer, but those that reach down to the buttocks are easier to style.

How to wear oversized sweaters so they don't overwhelm your figure?
An oversized sweater can distort the proportions of the figure and have the opposite effect to the intended one, so when styling with an oversized sweater, it is worth remembering to emphasize the slimmer parts of the figure.

Women's oversize sweaters - styling ideas
An oversized sweater, while generally a wardrobe staple, can also be styled smart casually. Pair it with a skirt (e.g., satin) or cigarette pants, elegant shoes (stilettos, loafers, ankle boots, or high-heeled boots), and add a touch of classic gold or silver jewelry and a simple handbag. I suggest layering it with a timeless trench coat or an elegant diplomatic coat. Sweaters with a round or pointed neckline also look great under an oversized blazer, which is also very fashionable this season.

An elegant and unique styling idea is to wear a looser shirt under an oversized V-neck sweater. You can pair this top with elegant bottoms or, for a twist, pair it with casual jeans. To give the look a more interesting vibe, you can add an oversized leather biker jacket and heavy boots (e.g., thick-soled loafers).
A scaled-down turtleneck sweater is perfect for transitional outfits, as a replacement for a scarf under a coat or jacket, as well as for more typical winter outfits. Pairing a short sweater with a mini A-line skirt is a very fashionable idea for an unusual outfit. To make this look comfortable and stylish, depending on the weather, I suggest wearing sheer or opaque tights and loafers/ankle boots, or over-the-knee boots.
Of course, you can also pair a classic oversized sweater with jeans . To avoid a boring outfit, remember to add interesting accessories, such as a hat/cap, a jewelry belt, a fashionable handbag, etc., and a stylish outerwear (e.g., a down vest, trench coat, biker jacket, shirt jacket).
