Discover eco-friendly materials for summer!
There's increasing talk about the significant impact humans have not only on the environment but also on the entire planet. Unfortunately, the textile and clothing industry is one of the Earth's biggest polluters, a fact we still don't talk about as loudly as we should. We use enormous amounts of water to produce clothes, and as we know, a significant portion of the population is experiencing a water shortage. Furthermore, mass clothing production also generates tons of waste that can't be recycled into other products. Is there anything we can do about it? Yes! Through our purchasing choices, we can all have a real impact on the state of our planet.
💡 The first rule is: buy responsibly . When buying new clothes, try to choose those made from eco-friendly materials. This way, you'll not only help the Earth but also increase your own comfort. Eco-friendly fabrics are made from natural raw materials and are characterized by, among other things, breathability. That's why the best fabrics for summer are those produced sustainably!
What materials are eco-friendly?
COTTON
Cotton is one of the best fabrics for summer. It's obtained from the seeds of the cotton plant. After the flowers fade, a seed capsule forms, which bursts during ripening, releasing the fibers. Cotton is not only lightweight but also allows for proper air circulation and doesn't contribute (like polyester, for example) to excessive sweating. That's why cotton is a must-have in your list of eco-friendly summer fabrics! Cotton has a number of excellent properties: it's resistant to stretching and is characterized by high hygroscopicity (it can absorb 25% of water vapor without feeling damp). Therefore, it's worth choosing clothes made of 100% cotton or those with a predominance of cotton. I especially recommend SUPIMA cotton, which is cotton sourced exclusively from crops grown in the southwestern United States.
💡 Its fibers are 35% longer than regular cotton, making it incredibly soft to the touch. Furthermore, it's 45% more durable than regular cotton and absorbs and retains color much better.

MICROMODAL
When discussing breathable summer fabrics, micromodal is also worth mentioning . It's made from cellulose fibers derived from beechwood, which regulate body temperature and absorb moisture. It's undoubtedly more absorbent than cotton. That's why micromodal is an eco-friendly material , used to make ANSIN invisible undershirts. Thanks to its properties, Miss and Mr. Invisible are imperceptible when worn, and the elastic threads allow them to perfectly fit any body . This material is also used for nightgowns and bed linen, as it has moth-repellent and mold-preventing properties.
TENCEL
Tencel, also known as lyocell , is equally effective on warm days . It's an eco-friendly, 100% natural material obtained from wood cellulose. The cellulose is dissolved to create threads. A solvent is used in the production of Tencel, which is a non-toxic and completely safe substance. Importantly, Tencel is 100% biodegradable (it decomposes in just 6 weeks), absorbs moisture perfectly and releases it back into the atmosphere. Furthermore, it's composed of nanofibers, which are incredibly smooth. This is why clothes made from Tencel are incredibly soft to the touch, as well as lightweight and breathable. Lyocell is produced primarily in the United States (where it's known primarily as Tencel), India, Great Britain, and Austria. FLAX
You're probably familiar with linen, an eco-friendly fabric that's perfect for hot days. It's breathable and durable, making it a good investment – believe me, a good, classic linen shirt will last in your wardrobe for years! What's more, linen products don't cause allergies and are also safe for the environment – linen is completely biodegradable after use. A linen dress or trousers are perfect for hot days when we're looking for clothes that will make us feel comfortable. Blouses and dresses made from this eco-friendly fabric are airy, comfortable, static-resistant, and also provide a cool feeling. Did you know that linen blocks harmful UV radiation (due to its high lignin content, it absorbs UV radiation), and of all known fibers, it creates the best microclimate for the skin? Linen is a breathable summer fabric, chosen by conscious and responsible people who care about the environment!

Conscious decisions are key!
As you can see, there's plenty to choose from, and high temperatures don't have to mean excessive sweating. It's wonderful that by choosing clothes that are good for us, we can also take care of the environment. Choose eco-friendly, healthy, and durable materials . And remember that our conscious decisions and choices impact our planet. It's definitely worth acting responsibly.
